Amor Real / Pat's Place 2021 Accomplishments & Updates

We have some exciting news to share from the wonderful world of Peru. Thanks to our friends, families, and donors for all of your support; it has been an amazing year. Below is a list of amazing accomplishments that you helped provide. Holly and I want to take this time to thank you for everything you have done for Pat’s Place and Amor Real.

As we wind down 2021 and get ready to sprint into 2022, our families are finishing their last few days of school. While another great year has passed at home, our families have been able to celebrate being vaccinated and attending more events outside of the home. After almost two years of being at home with little time outside of the house (other than the vacation we took them on in October), they are all eager to get out into public more often. This is also great news for 2022 as the country returns to some normalcy, and the kids even have the chance to go back to in-person school. Below are some pictures of the kids studying and some of the older ones in line for their second shot. Keep reading below for more great news.

We want to take this time to celebrate Arab as he graduates from Primary School. Some of the schools gave the option for a small public graduation which he and his sister attended. Pictured below are Arab & Nasha along with Arab’s teacher. He is very excited to move into the next Secondary School.

Pat's Place Vacation

I would like to give a big shout out to our amazing friends and donors that sponsored this event. We were also blessed to have Pastor Robert and Jennifer Walker for taking part in this event. They were invaluable to this trip. It has been almost 2 years since we have been able to take our families on an outing. We were able to take them out on dune buggies, sand boarding, boats, swimming, nightly walks on the beach, group therapy sessions, and an amazing discussion by Pastor Jennifer Walker on Hope. Please see the video below for a recap on this amazing trip.

Here are the latest photos of our families in front of the mural on the 2nd floor. Everyone is growing up very fast.

Once we were back home, Pastor Jen took all of the ladies out to the spa for a Mani / Pedi day. It is the little things sometimes that make the biggest impact.

I always make Pancakes for the families when I am in Peru. Pastor Jennifer decided that she wanted to make them an amazing lunch, so she made them Beef Enchiladas and Mexican rice. It was a fishes and loaves moment as well because we were sure that we did not have enough food once we laid the food out. However, not only did they all eat multiple servings, we still had some left overs.

Amor Real / Pat's Place Van Is Here

Joe Warren and I just spent the last 4 days in Peru with our Director Laura finalizing all of the paper work on the Pat’s Place Van. This was a very exciting trip for everyone. We started Monday with a trip to the dealer to finish the paperwork, and then a nice little drive back to the house. Laura and I were a little nervous as the van is taller and longer than you would think when driving it. After 2 days, we put together a little presentation for the families of Pat’s Place, and took them out to dinner to celebrate. Below is a short video of this exciting trip. We want to say thank you to all of our donors for making this dream a reality.

Thank You

Pat's Place Update - You Did it!!!

The Lord has answered our prayers! Thanks to our amazing donors who have help raise $38,000 dollars. We have been blessed with more than enough money to purchase Pat's Place very first 18-passenger van! Not only did YOU help provide for the purchase, but also for all the Peruvian-required fees and a special driving course required for Pat's Place Director, Laura Ali. Everything has been completely covered!

We have truly been humbled and overwhelmed by the friends and family who have donated so generously to make this dream come true. God is so faithful to provide for our every need in His perfect time! We are so excited to share that the purchase will be finalized during our upcoming family mission trip July 12-22 in just two short weeks. We will share pictures, video and a Live Facebook event to show you what YOU have helped make possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Upgrade Time - This has been an amazing year already. Besides the amazing news above about our very first van, we are also in the middle of upgrading the living space for our families. The house is 16 years old at this point and it is time to replace a few things. I am proud to say that it is Christmas in July. We have purchased a new Industrial Fridge for our Kitchen on the 3rd floor, 6 brand new toilets for the house which means that we have now replaced every toilet in the entire house in 15 months. We are doing everything we can to make sure our families are taken care.

Double Your Dough Update

The past 3 weeks have been amazing. We definitely have some amazing supporters. I want to thank you all for your love and support of Pat’s Place. We are just 10 days away for closing out our double your dough for the Pat’s Place Van. It is not to late to double your donation. We only need $6,290.00 to reach our goal. Laura’s birthday is in 3 days. Can you help us reach our goal and give Laura a nice gift for her birthday. I know she is excited to see a dream of more than 10 years come to pass.

Pat's Place - Where Families Matter

Slide1.JPG

It has been a great week at Pat’s Place. Spending time with our families is always the highlight of the trip. During this trip I was able to fix a few things around the house as well as spend some quality time with my kiddos. We had a couple issues with the computers, Wi-Fi, printers, doors, windows, and a couple minor things in some of the rooms. While Laura and Pamela are here running the house, I was able to be the handy man which is very needed. It is a full time job for sure as something would happen each day. Sometimes before I would leave a room, Pamela would say, Alexcito, can you fix this or that. I want to say thank you to all our Sponsors for making everything we do here possible.

Here is a great picture of our kids in the Computer Lab that we installed in December. This lab has been such a blessing to them as they have been able to do all of their school work in here. Pamela is doing a wonderful job with teaching them, and helping them through out the day. This is a full time job, and she works 10 hours a day here at the house. We are blessed to have her as their teacher. Not only is she helping them with their school work, but she also helps them with their spiritual and mental health. Having Pamela focus on the kids, allows Laura the time to run the house, take care of the women’s needs and their mental health without having to worry about the kids.

For my last night here, We had dinner brought in from a local restaurant near the house. Everyone had a great time, and they all cleared their plates. The kids can really eat. We think that our kids in America are hungry, these kids act like this is their last meal and tomorrow is not coming. They are truly taking the scripture that says we are not promised tomorrow to heart (James 4:13-15).

Pat's Place - Back to School

Spring in the United States is a time of new beginnings, while it’s fall in Peru, and the children are starting their new 2021 school year. On their first day, they parade into school holding their heads high, excited for all the new things they’re going to learn…but this year, just like the last, they paraded in a circle because they will be learning virtually from home once again thanks to covid.

God is in the business of transformation at Casa Pat, so the children begin each morning with a time of worship, prayer and encouragement in the Word of God. This provides a firm foundation of the renewal of their minds; where there was once darkness, pain and torment, there is light, comfort and hope. Casa Pat’s director, Laura, and her daughter/assistant, Pamela, share from their own changed hearts to speak life and Truth into theirs.
